Hardscape design, build & repair · NH + Tampa Bay

Patios that stay level through freeze and thaw

For residential and commercial clients across Southern NH, Lake Winnipesaukee, the NH Seacoast, and Tampa Bay, we handle design, excavation, base prep, and installation.

The part you don't see—the base, the drainage, the grade—is the part we won't rush.

What we do

We handle design, excavation, base prep, and installation for new hardscapes and restoration work.

Paver patios

Paver patios

We excavate, grade, and compact an engineered base, then set and joint the pavers so water moves away from your house. Patios are built for freeze-thaw cycles in New England and heavy rain in Florida.

Retaining walls

Retaining walls

We build retaining walls on a compacted base with drainage behind the wall, so water doesn't build up and push. Walls are designed to handle slopes, grade changes, and seating areas.

Walkways & steps

Walkways & steps

We lay walkways and steps with consistent rise and level landings, using pavers or natural stone. Base prep and edge restraint keep the path stable under foot and through frost cycles.

Fire pits & fireplaces

We install fire pits and fireplaces as patio anchors, with proper footing and clearance. Materials and placement are chosen to hold up in both New England and Florida weather conditions.

Outdoor kitchens

We build outdoor kitchens with stable footings and countertops sized for grills, storage, and prep space. The layout follows how you cook outdoors and the materials are chosen for New England and Florida conditions.

Hardscape restoration & repairs

We start by finding why the stone moved. We repair settled pavers, leaning walls, and cracked steps by removing the failed base, fixing drainage, and reinstalling the stone so it stays level.

About us

NH Hardscapes has been building hardscapes since 2015 with crews in New Hampshire and Florida. We do our own excavation, base prep, and installation, so the crew that sets your stone is the same crew that prepared the ground under it. Every project is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty.

We work on new construction and restoration for homeowners and commercial clients in Southern NH, Lake Winnipesaukee, the NH Seacoast, and Tampa Bay. Our details—engineered bases, drainage, materials chosen for each climate—are what keep patios level and walls standing through freeze-thaw and coastal weather.

What clients say

Our backyard went from an unusable slope to a two-level patio with a fire pit. Four winters later there isn't a single settled paver.

KarenAmherst, NH · Patio

The 3D rendering sold us, but the crew is what earned the referral. Clean site every night, and they finished two days early.

PriyaNewburyport, MA · Patio

They rebuilt our pool deck in travertine and handled the permitting. It handles the Florida heat beautifully — no burning feet.

Frequently asked questions

Do you take on large commercial hardscape projects?

Yes. If you have a big project — a plaza, a long retaining wall, a full-site hardscape package — we can do it. We bring our own crew, equipment, and engineered standards to commercial work across New England and Florida. Send us your plans or your scope and we'll put a real number on it.

How long does a large commercial installation take?

It depends on scope, but here's a realistic guide: a single entry walk or small patio runs 3 to 7 days on-site. A plaza or courtyard runs 1 to 3 weeks. A structural retaining wall package runs 2 to 4 weeks. Full-site hardscape builds — multiple walls, walks, drives, and amenity spaces — typically run 4 to 8 weeks. We phase the work and give you a firm, dated timeline before we break ground.

What's the timeline from first call to project completion?

Typically 3 to 6 weeks from your first call to a finished project for most commercial builds. Estimate and site walk usually happen within a week; proposal and scheduling take another few days to two weeks depending on design review; then we mobilize and build to the agreed timeline. Large or phased jobs that tie into other trades can take longer — we'll map that out up front.

Can you phase a big build so your site stays open?

Yes, and we do this routinely. We split the work into phases — by zone, building, or area — so entrances, parking, and walkways stay usable throughout construction. We'll coordinate phasing with your operations, tenants, or GC so there's minimal disruption to your business.

Are you licensed and insured for commercial work?

Yes. NH Hardscapes is licensed and fully insured, with commercial liability coverage and documented safety practice. We can provide certificates of insurance and W-9s for your GC or property manager.

Do you warranty commercial installations?

Yes. Our commercial hardscapes carry the same 5-year workmanship warranty as our residential work. If something settles or fails within that window because of how we built it, we fix it. Material warranties from the manufacturer (pavers, block, sealants) apply on top of that.
